Heading 1: What I Learned

What I learned before about typography that I did not know before is that fonts are more than just customizing letters. Fonts add to the design of artwork. Depending on the visual of the artwork, different fonts are used to connect to the rest of the contents of the artwork. I also learned that it is possible to combine fonts without there being any visual confusion.

Heading 2: Favorite Thoughts

My favorite exercise is exercise two because I liked how the type connected with the contents of the artwork. Changing the type or font of the type helped me get the visual of older times writing that connects to the time of the quote. I think the SNL gave me an understanding that font of type can be used in different ways depending on how the visual wants to be perceived.

Heading 3: Art Movement Research

The art movement that I decided to research is graffiti. This movement is located in downtown Columbia, South Carolina, and it is a shoe robot that is created with spray paint. The pop of the colors and the cartoon and bubbly appearance connects to the graffiti movement.
