D’Alishawn Grooms

The object I chose to use is an apple and different versions of apples. I chose to use this object because apples are my favorite fruit. I can eat apples all day and every day. There are also different ways to eat apples and that’s what I wanted to use when doing the comparative grid. I identify with apples because I have different variations of myself but each variation connects to one person which is me.
The technique that I used that was most successful is using different filters that separated each image from each other. I also wanted to incorporate dark images with the light images so that there is a contrast with color. I decided to put juxtaposition opposite images on the left side middle and right side middle. I put them on opposite sides because I thought that It would look better away from each other than right next to each other. One thing that I would have done differently is using different colors and different filters, so the differences would be more distinguishable.
What I learned about this process is understanding how filters work and how there can be a connection between different images. In future assignments I know what tools that can help me create juxtaposion images and how different looks can change the outlook of a compostion. I also learned that stacking multiple filters can create a new variation of multiple filters that I can use and apply to images.
