Principle #2- Proximity

ARTC1359

What is the Principle of Proximity?

Principle of proximity deals with the spacing and relationships between objects. Proximity is powerful enough to overpower other elements of variation. Proximity has the power to create connections between ideas and elements. Proximity works by organizing and connecting objects that are relative to each other. An object could have multiple objects inside it but the effects of proximity can cause the viewer to see only one main object.

Proximity Relationships

I used proximity to organize my objects which created a visual that displays the connection between the objects. In some of the visuals that I created, there are shapes or objects within the objects like the arrows in doc#2. I think doc#1 best creates the relationships between objects because proximity gave the visual a greater look between objects. The connections with the objects allowed me to create two things with those objects. The five objects created one big pentagon and the spacing between the objects created an imaginary pentagon. Doc #1 was by far the most creative thing I made between the two docs.
